PROFILE

My name is Zeneida Disla.  I am a drama therapist.  I have worked in psychiatry for over 30 years.  Now I am going to be a librarian/archivist!  Many of the skills I have acquired working as a therapist are directly transferrable to library services - care for the customer, sensitivity about tough topics, educating the public about services, encouraging people to continue their journeys of lifelong learning, and more.

I love the arts especially film, theatre and visual art.  When I first got to Pratt, I didn't understand why an art institute would have a School of Information.  Two years later, I completely understand!  Not only are books an art form in themselves, the various worlds of the arts need managing of their collections and programming.  And, information is all around us, just like art. It is a part of life.
